Presenting at WordCamp Roma

On September 15th, U.S. Privacy Attorney, Rian Kinney, will travel to the Eternal City to present on The Key Differences Between EU and US Privacy Law at WordCamp Rome.

Rian is no stranger to the international WordCamp community, having attended WordCamp Milano in 2017 and volunteered as a teaching assistant at WordCamp Europe 2018 in Belgrade, Serbia, However, WordCamp Rome 2018 marks her international speaking debut in the WordPress space.

Rian is a member of the WordPress Core-Privacy Team and is a Certified International Privacy Manager with the International Association of Privacy Professionals, in addition to working as a business and privacy attorney and consultant.

The talk will provide an overview of US and EU Privacy frameworks; comparing and contrasting cultural approaches to privacy, legal requirements, penalties and enforcement. And perhaps the recently approved amendment to the existing Italian Privacy Code, incorporating the GDPR, if the law is published in the Official Gazette by September (like a great Italian sauce, these things take time.)

WordCamp Rome will take place on September 15th starting at 9:00 am, in the in the Engineering Building – at the University of Rome (Università Roma Tre per la conferenza).
